Is there a way to view a Word Document or a large amout of text in a file on a Pantech Pursuit?

I'm not sure if I'm wording this question, but here's the deal: I'm just trying to figure out if there's any way at all to view a bunch of text on a Pantech Pursuit. I'm not sure whether this can be accomplished by copy/pasting the text onto a program and saving it as a certain file or what. I HAVE tried to save the text on Notepad, put the file onto a memory card, and then put the memory card into my phone and then open the file, but it only shows an error message saying that the file type is not supported. Any suggestions? I'm going crazy here! :(
