What does it mean when a married guy asks me if i have a man?

There is this guy that I used to work with. He came into the store and we started talking and then asked me if I had a man. I was startled a little bit and asked why he wanted to know and he just said that he wanted to know. I told him that I did and then he asked me why I never told him. What is he trying to accomplish?
